Perbandingan CDI BRT Vs CDI Rextor. Tujuan orang memilih CDI berbeda-beda. Sebagian mengganti CDI motor mereka sekedar untuk memperbesar tenaga motor, ada pula yang cuma mau akselerasi motor mereka makin kencang atau konsumsi BBM makin irit. Ada banyak CDI yang dijual dipasaran namun setidaknya hanya dua yang terkenal dengan kualitasnya yaitu CDI BRT dan CDI Rextor.

Tidak dapat dibantah, CDI BRT adalah salah satu merek CDI racing terpopuler di Indonesia. Nama besar CDI BRT bahkan dikenal hingga ke negeri seberang. Pilihan produk yang komplit bagi segala jenis motor. CDI ini pun terkenal awet, boleh jadi karena penciptanya Tommy Huang menanamkan teknologi Automatic Low Voltage Protection (ALVP) yang bisa memproteksi CDI ciptaannya ini dari penyebab terbanyak kerusakan CDI yaitu aki tekor. Ada dua varian CDI BRT di pasaran yaitu BRT Hyperband dan BRT.

Dualband. CDI Hyperband hampir mirip dengan CDI standar namun dengan tidak ada limiter atau pembatas rpm. CDI Hyperband ini sanggup menerima rpm mencapai 20 ribu rpm. Itulah mengapa dinamakan dengan CDI Hyperband, sebab kisaran rpm yang dapat dijangkau motor begitu lebar. Dengan begitu memungkinkan meraih top speed lebih tinggi dari normalnya. Cara memasang CDI ini gampang saja seperti memasang CDI standar, cukup mencolokkan pada tempatnya, sudah beres. Tak usah utak atik pengapian lagi. Sebab CDI ini cuma mempunyai satu kurva pengapian saja.

CDI BRT Dualband dalam memorinya dibenamkan dua tipe kurva pengapian yang berlainan. Dua pengapian ini dapat dihidupkan ataupun dimatikan sekalipun motor dalam keadaan melaju. Katakan saja kurva pengapian A dan kurva pengapian B, kedua kurva tersebut mempunyai perbedaan derajat timing pengapian 2 derajat. Sehingga kurva pengapian B lebih maju 2 derajat dibanding kurva pengapian A.

Reputasi CDI Rextor  tidak usah disangsikan lagi adalah merek CDI kenamaan di Indonesia yang populer dengan CDI programmable. Jejeran CDI Programmable high end misalnya varian CDI Rextor Monster dan CDI Rextor Pro Drag telah semenjak dulu menjadi andalan tim balap motor apakah itu pada arena road race ataupun drag bike. Selain dua varian CDI Rextor tadi ada juga CDI racing non-programmable bagi segmen pemula dengan harga lebih murah. CDI Rextor ada dua jenis yakni CDI Rextor Tunable dan CDI Rextor Adjustable.

CDI Rextor Tunable merupakan varian CDI Rextor paling murah menggunakan satu kurva pengapian atau single map yang bisa melayani putaran mesin hingga 21.500 rpm. Keunggulan CDI Rextor Tunable ialah adanya fitur PPA (Pulse Position Adjuster).  Anda mungkin sudah pernah mendengar modifikasi timing pengapian manual yang dilakukan sejumlah mekanik dengan men-setting sensor pick up pulser yang terletak pada magnet motor dengan maksud merubah timing pengapian. PPA pada CDI rextor ini pun hampir sama yaitu sebagai pengatur posisi pulser akan tetapi secara digital, sehingga tidak usah lagi harus membubut tonjolan pick up pulser, cuma dengan memutar tombol PPA ke kiri atau ke kanan menggunakan obeng. Semua timing pengapian mulai langsam hingga top timing akan maju atau mundur menurut putaran PPA. Menggunakan fitur PPA sebagai pengatur posisi pulser ini, timing pengapian untuk seluruh putaran mesin bisa digeser maju maupun digeser mundur hingga maksimal 4 derajat dari kondisi standar. Boleh jadi inilah mengapa dinamakan Tuneable yang maksudnya dapat di tuning lagi guna menemukan kurva pengapian yang pas menurut putaran mesin.
